God Allows Freedom, and Still Maintains control...

I was watching a sermon by Louie Giglio, and it prompted me to begin pondering this. This absolutely blows my mind. How can God allow complete freedom to people on earth, and still maintain control? This seems like a very complicated thought to me.

Here's and example, when Jesus was crucified at the hands of [angry] men(Acts Ch.2). Here's a little background. It was a religious day and a one of the societal authorities(Pontius Pilate) would always release a criminal(I'm not too sure why, or how this became a tradition). And he had two people that he would offer up to be freed, and let the crowd of civilians choose which on was let go. He offered up Jesus, and he offered up Barabbas. Barabbas was a "Notorius prisoner"(Matt. 27:16). I did a little research on him(Barabbas) and found that he was a part of a group called sicarii, a militant Jewish movement that sought to overthrow the Roman occupiers of their land by force. And this guy was a murderer (Mark 15:7). This guy was bad news. While on the other hand, you have Jesus. Jesus was God's son. He hadn't commited any crimes, in fact, he had lived a PERFECT life on earth. According to the Gospels, Pilate was reluctant to kill Jesus, which I suppose(I'm not sure of this) is why he chose Jesus to be picked against Barabbas. I'm assuming that he chose Barabbas to go up there with Jesus because he was sure that the crowd would pick Barabbas. Now thinking about it, I see no reason why they wouldn't pick Barabbas to die and Jesus to be freed. They would get a criminal off the streets, which would make them and their families safer. But when Pilate offers up the two men to the crowds choice, the crowd starts to yell "Don't free this man! Free Barabbas!"(John 18:40). This, I can't understand. They would rather have the criminal back on the streets than Jesus. It looks to me like this mob was crazy, and looks as though no one was in control. So later on the deed was done. Men came and crucified our Savior, Jesus. All the guys killing him didn't have anything against him. Though, evidently the vast majority disliked him. I believe they were just doing their job. And there job that day was to put Jesus up on a cross for him to die. This situation was man's choice. It was the freedom of men, and when you look at it, it looks like chaos. But when you really think about it, was God in charge? Yes! Did the citizens make choices? Yes. Did God put the words in their mouths and force them to say Barabbas, so His Son could die for the sins of the world? No. Somehow, God allowed freedom and still maintained control and got His will done.

He is doing that all around us, and it blows my mind. How is God allowing us to have freedom, but still maintaining control? God gives me the freedom to do whatever I want (which isn't too good sometimes), and yet, He's still in control of my life. He is always in control, no matter our choices. Now, the freedom of people causes horrible, horrible things to happen, such as wars, killings, and everything else bad you can think of. And people say, "Why doesn't God just stop that from happening, and fix everything, and make people do the right things?". If God did that, then we wouldn't the freedom He gave us and we would be of no use to Him. Though, God does promise that one day He will end all of the chaos, and that is the day that we will ascend up to Heaven with him, but that day hasn't come yey. So until that day, we are going to have this freedom and we will make mistakes, and God will still be in complete control. I just can't wrap my mind around this. That is truly awesome...

Non-Christians Wanting to Go To Heaven

I have been thinking about this all day...

I have been asked a few times in my life, "If you could go to heaven, with all of your friends and family, Chick-fil-a for every meal, sweet tea whenever you wanted it, all your favorite activities, all your favorite things that you've ever had, all the fun things you've ever done, without any harmful things to you or your surroundings, no sickness, no emotional pain, could you be happy in heaven, if Christ wasn't there". I used to see this as a very, very tough question. I don't so much anymore. Don't get me wrong, all that stuff would be pretty sweet. But I would only be happy for like...a couple of days(if that), but If Christ isn't there, I don't want to have any part of it. He is the reason for heaven. I want to be there praising Him for eternity, not playing madden and eating freebirds. He is the reason for everything, and to have that stuff without Him, it would just get old and tiresome. This brings me to my main point. Why is it when a non-believer is asked what will happen to them when they die, the majority say, "Uhh.. I don't know. I think I've lived a pretty good life, so I think I'll end up somewhere nice. I'll probably go to heaven."? Why that response? They know nothing of Jesus, thus, they know nothing of heaven. Why would you want to spend eternity in a place that you know nothing about? I don't understand this. I see this as being like a person who dislikes sports wanting to go to every football, basketball, soccer, etc. event they can. If you dislike sports so much, why would you want to spend so much time watching them? If you don't want to have anything to do with God, why would you want to spend eternity with Him? That happiness that Christian feel in heaven, non-Christians would not feel. So what is their place there? They would be the ones who have boredom and unhappiness. This has puzzled me all day.

Down in Aggieland...

This past week I traveled up to College Station with my family to watch the Aggies take on the OSU Cowboys in some Big 12 football. We arrived in Conroe at about 3 or 4 on Friday. From there we went to Wings & More. I then went with my brother to CS to go to Midnight Yell. Midnight Yell is probably my favorite Aggie tradition, it is an amazing experience. After Yell Practice we traveled to Bryan to stay at one of his friend's houses. We woke up, watched college gameday, and fed a sick cat some Gatorade. We then went and ate at Fitzwilly's with my parents. After that we walked around CS and looked at Buildings, Statues, and Fountains. We went into the MSC and watched part of the Kansas St. and Kansas game on a large screen. We left there to go to a tailgate and from there we went to G. Rollie to pick up our Maroon Out Shirts. After that we went and watched the band and Players walk down the street. We also went to sponsor booths outside of Kyle and got some pretty cool, free stuff. Then we went to the Aggie Sports Museum. The museum was pretty cool. They had some stuff about some of my favorite players, like Dat and Bucky Richardson. They also had some Really old stuff like a playbook from our 1939 National Championship season. We then went back to the MSC and watched the second half of ou/tu game. After that we went on to Kyle. We got to our seats and sang Spirit of Aggieland, Texas, Our Texas, and The Star Spangled Banner. The game then started and some drunk jerk sat down beside me. He acted very inappropriately, definitely not like an Aggie is expected to act. The Ags were down 17 at halftime and I was feeling pretty bad about the game until the jerk got up and left and the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band formed at the north end of Kyle Field. The band made me smile and we won halftime, of course. The jerk never came back and the Ags made the largest second half comeback in Aggie history. I was very pleased in the outcome of the game.
My brother and I then went back to Conroe, ate breakfast from Whataburger, and then went to sleep. We cam back home early the next day.

When I was back home I found this thread on TexAgs about the guy I was sitting next to...
Thread about the jerk

Since my last blog post I have entered my Freshman year of High School. It pretty great so far. I have made it through a 6 weeks with pretty good grades and yesterday was the first day of the 2nd Six weeks.
Yesterday was pretty hectic. In English I discovered that we would be expected to read Romeo and Juliet, and I'm not too excited about that. I found out in World Geography that I was going to have draw a political and physical map of the United States, which isn't that big of a deal to me. And in spanish my teacher told me that we are going to write a 4 page story. These projects don't sound fun to me and I'm really not looking forward to doing them.
Today was not bad. I had a test in biology and I think i made a pretty solid grade, probaly an A. That was pretty much the only hard part of my school day.

Well, I'm off. It's past my bedtime. I will try to update my blog sometime soon so that Clinton will put me back on his bookmarks. ¡Adios amigos!

yucca plants

I realize i haven't posted in a while and I am going to spare you of all the junk that I usually say about me trying to post more and stuff like that. I am going to get straight into the story that i want to tell you.
I went with the youth of my church out to Zephyr and we did some painting and some landscaping. By landscaping I mean we cut some trees, cleaned out brush, and fun stuff like that. Well while we were cutting some yucca trees (which are some crazy trees that look like little palm trees) I was talking to one of my friends and I really wasn't paying attention to what I was doing so I find myself walking straight into one of these trees. One of the pointy leave parts of the tree went into my head and i started to bleed pretty bad. The only think is that I didn't know I was bleeding. I felt something running down my head, and it was hot outside, so I just figured it was sweat. Well it turns out it was blood. So I went up to my youth leader and told him that I was bleeding. So he got me a ride to the nurses emergency center and as I walk in i hear the nurses say "Wow...look at that...you are bleeding. You shouldn't worry at all its just covering half of your face. I will take care of you...i am certified in CPR." The whole time I'm there I'm trying to figure out how CPR will stop the bleeding of my head. Well the nurse then tells me that she is afraid of blood so another nurse will have to take care of me. And she makes comment about me looking "hard-core" and she says how she needs to take a picture of me because it would make a good myspace picture since i have a steady flow of blood coming from my head. And by this point half my face is just bleeding and I'm trying to figure out if I will ever be taken care of. Well after like 5 minutes they pour some kind of stuff on my head and the bleeding stops and I get to go back to work. I then find out that I was the third person to have to go to the nurses station that day because of those plants making people bleed. Just to show you what a yucca tree is here is a pic. This is what I ran into...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The only difference betweent that yucca and the one that attacked me is that the one that i ran into was bigger and more aggressive.

that weekend was crazy...and fun.

here is another story i read and i like it so i thought i would put it on here...

This is a true story of something that happened just a few years ago at USC.

There was a professor of philosophy there who was a deeply committed atheist.

His primary goal for one required class was to spend the entire semester to prove that God couldn't exist.

His students were always afraid to argue with him because of his impeccable logic.

Sure, some had argued in class at times, but no one had ever really gone against him because of his reputation.

At the end of every semester on the last day, he would say to his class of 300 students, "If there is anyone here who still believes in Jesus, stand up!"

In twenty years, no one had ever stood up. They knew what he was going to do next. He would say, "Because anyone who believes in God is a fool"

If God existed, he could stop this piece of chalk from hitting the ground and breaking. Such a simple task to prove that He is God, and yet He can't do it."

And every year, he would drop the chalk onto the tile floor of the classroom and it would shatter into a hundred pieces.

All of the students would do nothing but stop and stare.

Most of the students thought that God couldn't exist. Certainly, a number of Christians had slipped through, but! for 20 years, they had been too afraid to stand up.

Well, a few years ago there was a freshman who happened to enroll.

He was a Christian, and had heard the stories about his professor.

He was required to take the class for his major, and he was afraid. But for three months that semester, he prayed every morning that he would have the courage to stand up no matter what the professor said, or what the class thought.

Nothing they said could ever shatter his faith...he hoped.

Finally, the day came. ! The professor said, "If there is anyone here who still believes in God, stand up!" The professor and the class of 300 people looked at him, shocked, as he stood up at the back of the classroom.

The professor shouted, "You FOOL!!!

If God existed, he would keep this piece of chalk from breaking when it hit the ground!"

He proceeded to drop the chalk, but as he did, it slipped out of his fingers, off his shirt cuff, onto the pleat of his pants, down his leg, and off his shoe. As it hit the ground, it simply rolled away unbroken. The professor's jaw dropped as he stared at the chalk. He looked up at the young man, and then ran out of the lecture hall.

The young man who had stood, proceeded to walk to the front of the room and shared his faith in Jesus for the next half hour. 300 students stayed and listened as he told of God's love for them and of His power through Jesus.

Ok well thats all for today...

oh and here is a comic for yall

Long Time No See!

I sit here wondering what i can do so that i wont be bored. A few thing cross my mind...lift weights...nah, too tired...sleep...nope, too early...so then i suddenly remember, dont i have something that i post-very rarely i might add- stuff on and tell people whats goin on in my life. hmm...what was that called...oh! oh! a blog, yeah i have a blog that i think i will post on. thatll keep me busy for a few minutes, yeah i think im gonna do that!

so its been a while since i last posted on this and im kind of surprised i dont have any hate mail...i guess the hatemailers finally gave up on leaving me nasty comments and protesting against me. alot of things have happened. on for example was Christmas. Christmas was great...i got some great stuff but more importantly i got to spend some good time with family. Another thing is that my FF team lost...in a blowout actually, and it was kinda surprising since i was on like an 8 game winning streak and i was beating teams by 40 points.

its almost time for me to go back to school already and i wont get another day off until 18th. it also seems that i wont get a holiday for MLK day. once i learned this i wasnt too happy. shouldnt i get this day off?!? i mean Martin Luther King was a pretty important person in history, wasnt he?? and i also learned that i wont get my birthday off! i mean c'mon i was a pretty important person in history wasnt i?!?! okay i agree the "was a pretty important person in history" phrase doesnt work as well on me as it does on MLK. but one day it the phrase work with me...you just watch and remember these words that you are reading right before your eyes at this very moment, alright?

My Panthers also won this week but, unfortuantely, they will still miss the playoffs. so in the playoffs i will be going for me 2nd and 3rd favorite teams...the cowboys and the chargers. i also just noticed that i use commas and the three periods thing"..." alot when i type and im no sure why. it also seems that the word "blog" is not a word in the blogs dictionary that you use to spellcheck your blog. ok it seems i am just rambling to make my blog lenghty so i will just stop. Happy New Years, i hope its a good one for all of yall...
^see i used a comma and "..." in the same sentence...
^see there i go again...
i need to stop rambling goodbye.

Without lights

yeah i spent more than four of my hours, that i was awake, in the dark today. the electricity went out at school so for some reason they told us to dit in the hall until the lights came on. it took more than 2 hours for them to come on so lets just say i got a pretty good nap in the never ending darkness of the halls of CMS. then we went to lunch and one of my friends has a broken collarbone, and no he did not break it the way adrian peterson did, needed to take his meds so i went with him to the nurses office and there were like 5 policeman and a few paramedics in there. they would not tell us what happened. but there were a bunch of cop cars outside with an ambulance. thats pretty much all that happened at school.

when i got home the electricity was off so i sat on the couch and listened to relient k on my ipod. that got boring after about 30 min. so i went outside and played football and i have never noticed how many stickers there are outside in the grass. then i went to Whataburger and then to church. Mark Crisp preached to us and if you have ever heard the guy im sure oyu know he is amazing at what he does. he gets so into the bible he makes the lesson great. he is very loud, funny, and sometimes scary. last week he even stood up on a chair! if you know the guy you know that he isnt small. he explained how much he ways with saying..."in high school i weighed 133 lbs. and guess how much i way now...more than 133 lbs." i love listening to this guy and watchig him preach. i think he is the best at what he does. well when i got home i looked on the internet and saw that ku got beat in bball so i really like that. and now i am typing this. i had a pretty good day today. it was a nice, calm day.

i am on a 3 game winning streak in Fantasy Football, winning my last game by scoring 151 points. LT did amazing once again, colston broke a saints recieving record, ocho cinco played as a on man team after not doing anything the rest of the weeks that i have him. this week i will definatley win my FF game.

i want this paragraph to go directly to clinton. i want to apologize for the pain i have put you through. i am very sorry if any of my actions(or lack of) caused you any harm. i hope you forgive me and i will try to not let this happen again.

the panthers will beat the rams this weekend in a convincing fashion. the ags will win any Bball game they have and calallen will beat mercedes and go to the second round of the playoffs.

on closing i would like to apologize to clinton one last time. i am dreadfully sorry and i will try not to let it happen again. and my final note will be for getting ready for the game after thanksgiving...BTHO t.u.!!!!!!!!!!

Friday is my second favorite day of the week, behind saturday. When i get home from school we are gonna go to fermins. then we are gonna watch the Wildcats demolish the little brahmas of kingsville. hmm i just realized that the Wildcats hand sign is the same as the wrecking crew's WC sign. i knew what both of them looked like i just never noticed they were the same.Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I'm Famous!

I had today off. it was a pretty easy day. i say "I'm Famous" because i wrote this poem
Concrete structure, rising to the sky,
one of the greatest man could build.
We quickly walked up the ramp,
to our place at Kyle Field.

It was late on September sixteenth,
on this fine Saturday.
It was almost time, of course,
to watch the Aggies play.

This would be the time and date,
where all their practicing would pay off.
They will be starting before you know it,
and they will be ready to kick-off.

Soon they will flip a coin,
to see who gets the ball.
The whistle would signal,
the beginning of this great brawl.

Upon the start of the game,
the opponent will feel the 12th man.
Kyle Field will be filled with noise,
so loud you canÂ’t hear the opponentÂ’s band.

The opponents try to run and pass,
and get through the defensive wall.
But no matter what they do,
they cannot move the ball.

But when the Aggies have possession,
they move the ball for a touchdown.
By the end of the game, you could say,
they truly deserve a golden crown.

At the end of the game,
all the Aggies and their fans have a grin.
Because they all know,
that the Aggies just earned their biggest win.

and this texags
was written about me. ha who would have thunk i would have a page on texags about me...not necessarilyly a good thing.

well nothing really happened today so here is the comic and i want to wish yall a good day tomorrow.good night.

Poetic Tragedy...

writer's block, writer's block, writer's block!!i have a poem due in 2 days and i cant think of anything to write it on...i cant get started.im glad i have tomorrow off to work on it though. well the aggies crushed ul tech on saturday with the score being 45-14...and the ags even had a terrible 1st quarter. the panthers finally won today 26-24 with a last second field goal by my boy kasay.kasay is a sure 3 points from within 55 yards.smith and keyshawn did amazing.if you look at the stats it looks like the panthers would have beaten the bucs by a pretty good margin. well this is a short blog cause i have work to do.im gonna leave yall with a pic that i found on texags that i liked.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

it has also been brought to my attention by clinton that stephen mcgee has only on leg in this pic.im not sure why that is but he is a great qb to have only one leg.
i am actually gonna put 3 comics to make up for the days that i missed and also they are hillarious and i couldnt pick just one.

28-24

well i am not going to comment on the panthers but i will talk about the aggies and my day in san antonio yesterday.so read and enjoy. we left here at about 11 o clock to go to san antonio for the A&M and army game. we got to SA at about one-ish so we drove around for a while then we went to the mall.then we went to the parade and then the game. the game was great...and by the way my throat still hurts a little. the aggies offense was amazing but there was more to be expected with the defense. well none the less the aggies shut army down on their final drive at the 2 yards line to win the game. J-lane had a great game with 3Td's.if yall wanna check out some clips her ya go agclips. well this blog will be short cause i am very tired cause we got home at like 3 last night so i didnt get much sleep so goodnight and have a good tomorrow.sorry todays blog was boring...i hope the comics arent.

Remembering...

My blog today is going to be short...well actually the length is really long but i dont type that much.It will include a couple of comments that i like, some comics, some pictures, and not much writing.im not going to comment on the panthers sloppy game. please read and enjoy these quotes.

"I've always thought you're put in places to make you a better person. Those things helped me mature in ways that I wouldn't have done otherwise. Just the respect for life. When you've seen death, you respect life."
-- Mark Dodge

"This is more fun than I can ever dream of. One bad day here is a lot better than a very good day overseas (in the military). If you complain about anything here, you're crazy."
-- Mark Dodge

"If sinners will be damned, at least let them leap to hell over our bodies. And if they will perish, let them perish with our arms around their knees, imploring them to stay. If hell must be filled, at least let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go there unwarned and unprayed for."
- Charles H. Spurgeon

I am going to insert my daily comics in right here instead of at the end...

Good Weekend for Sports

I haven't posted in a few days and i realize yall are sad about that but i hope you will enjoy todays blog and i hope yall forgive me for not posting in a while. well i am gonna start off on a good note today and talk about how this is the best weekend in sports this year.Yesterday i went to the best football game i have ever been to at wildcat stadium. The Calallen Wildcats played Laredo United longhorns, who is ranked number 14 in the nation in 5A schools, and beat them 31-24 . Also the Fightin Texas Aggies won big against ulala...51-7. The Astros also won big 10-4. t.u. lost to ohio state 24-7. And the main reason this is the best weekend in sports is...drumroll please...the NFL starts of course. well now that i told you that why it is the best weekend this year let me go back and elaborate on the A&M game then i will work my way back down to the NFL. The A&M game was great. J-Lane had an amazing game rushing 12 times for 52 yards and 4 TDs. Stephen McGee also did good going 20/28 for 200 yards and 1 TD.Martellus did great having 5 receptions with 53 yards. If you would like to check out all of the rest of the stats and stuff go here...
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=262520245&confId=4
OK now i am back to talking about the NFL. Here are my picks for this week...
I pick the Ravens over Tampa Bay...The Broncos over st louis...
The Pats over buffalo...The eagles over houston...
The Saints over the browns...the seahawks over the lions...
titans over jets...bengals over chiefs...
bears over packers...cardinals over 49s...
cowboys over jaguars...colts over giants...
redskins over vikings...chargers over raiders...
And of course The Carolina Panthers over the falcons!
i think those are some pretty good picks. well i am totally gonna stop talking about sports and go on to a different subject. on friday i got to ride the bus home and there is a house down the road from me where foreign exchange students live and there was some guy on my bus from spain and he couldnt speak english that well so since i take spanish i tried to communicate with him. i used a few phrases that i knew to talk to him. like i asked him what his name was, i asked him how he was, and yeah thats about it.i could have asked him what his birthday was or what the date was or i could have told him that the donkey knows more than him...or i could have said something that my brother taught me when he took spanish years ago in high shcool...i dont remember that much spanish from him but i know how to say pants and please. well this blog is getting rather lengthy and its getting late so i am gonna leave yall with a couple of comics. i hope yall have a nice sunday tomorrow.
